VET in School

The YMCA Institute of Education and Training has been auspicing with schools in WA for a wide range of qualifications since 2013. 

We aim to work with schools to provide students with current industry qualifications that creates pathways into further study or entry into the workforce.

Our range of Certificate I, II and III vocational courses are ideal for schools already delivering or for those schools that are seeking to move into Vocational Education and Training programs. Our team of VET Consultants will provide schools with the support they need to deliver, assess and issue qualifications through streamlined processes.

For each of the qualifications listed below, YMCA WA Training provides assessments for a select number of units identified as industry preferred. 2018 Prices

We charge an annual stream fee of only $1,450 for the qualifications we provide. This fee includes assessments for a selected number of units as well as all visits for metro schools (travel cost apply for regional schools). There is also a low cost of $30 per student to cover the administration of enrolling and issuing the students their certificates.

As a not for profit organisation, we aim to keep a cost neutral approach. Any profits we make are returned to the community through our range of youth and community development programs.

BSB10115 Certificate I in Business

National Training Logo

This entry-level qualification allows individuals across a variety of industry sectors to develop basic skills and knowledge to prepare for work. They may undertake a range of simple tasks under close supervision. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited.

Pathways from this qualification include studying any of the following qualifications:

  • Certificate II in Business
  • Certificate III in Business

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of junior administrative positions who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.

              This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in performing core skills in outdoor recreation environments and assisting with the conduct of a range of outdoor activities.

              Work may be undertaken as part of a team and would be performed under supervision. Work would be undertaken in field locations such as camps or in indoor recreation centres or facilities, in differing environments such as water-based, dry land and mountainous terrains, using a diverse range of equipment.

                  This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to be competent in delivering a basic instruction session for a sport. Work may be undertaken as part of a team and would be performed under supervision or independently in a structured environment such as a sporting club or school. Individuals wishing to undertake this qualification should be current or past participants in the respective sport specialisation chosen as part of this qualification.

                  A Community coach is an indicative job role for this qualification.

                      This qualification allows individuals to develop basic functional knowledge and skills for work in customer contact positions in the sport or community recreation industry. These individuals are competent in a range of administrative activities and functions within a team and under supervision.                       They work in locations such as sport and recreation centres or facilities, and leisure and aquatic centres assisting with the conduct of recreation activities, and facility maintenance and operations.
